"My work has evolved from my love of traditional pottery form. Decoration is inspired by the colour, light, and weather of the Cornish landscape/seascape. Painting has become an increasingly important medium in itself and also as a starting point to express how I feel about the environment I live in.

"Recently I have begun to incise lines of the landscape when the pot is at an early stage. I feel that these rapidly made lines embue a sense of the energy and calmness of Cornwall.

Brushing on many layers of glazes and oxides of different tones and colours, I build this up to a point when I feel it is resolved. I fire a gas kiln for 10 hours and wait for the kiln to hopefully reveal pots that have some essence of the Cornish landscape which I love."
